What is Dua? Dua is a request to Allah SWT. Dua is a conversation with Allah SWT. Dua is a weapon for us. Dua is a gift to us. So why dont we use it regularly?  Our prophet have said "Dua is the very essence of worship,"


Our Lord! Accept (this service) from us: For Thou art the All-Hearing, the All-knowing [2:127]






Listed below are some of Dua that you can try practice in your routine life. But before that there’s a guidelines that one should considered doing. These are more like a formality to shows Allah’s Lordship and we’re a mere creature who’s depending on Him as The Ruler of all.

1. Take a Wudu’

2. Facing Qiblah and raise your hands

3. Praise to Allah SWT and His Prophet Muhammad SAW

4. Make a Dua quietly or in soft voice

5. Say Ameen at the end of Dua

 

Manners in making Dua.

1. Sincerity

2. Be humble

3. Repent over your sins

4. Do not be impatient

5. Repeat

 

Let get started with our Prophet’s SAW favorite Dua.


Our Lord, Grant us good in this world and good in the hereafter, and save us
from the chastisement of the fire (2:201)

 

Dua can be made by using your own word and in your own language or it may be based upon on verses in Al-Qur’an. There’s many Dua that we can practice out of The Holy Qur’an. In Sya Allah I will try to add some more next time.



Rabbanaa afrigh alaina sabran wa sabbit aqhdaamana wansurna alal qaumil kaafireen.

O Lord, Bestow on us endurance and make our foothold sure and give us help against those who reject faith. (2:250)



Rabbana la tu'akhizna in-nasina aw akh-ta'na. Rab-bana wa la tahmil 'alayna isran kama hamaltahu 'ala-lladhina min qablina, Rab-bana wa la tuhammilna ma la taqata lana bih, wa-'fu 'anna wa 'ghfirlana warhamna anta Maulana fansurna 'alal-qawmil kafirin.

O Lord, do not punish us if we forget or make mistake. Our Lord, do not lay on us a burden as You lay on those before us. Our Lord, do not impose upon us that which we have not the strength to bear and pardon us and grant us protection and have mercy on us, You are our Protector, so help us against the unbelieving people. (2:286)

 


Rabbana la tuzighqulubana ba'da idh hadaitana wa hab lana min ladun-ka rahmah, innaka antal Wahhab.

O Lord, Let not our hearts deviate from the truth after You have guided us, and bestow upon us mercy from Your grace. Verily You are the Giver of bounties without measure. (3:8)



Rabbanaghfir lana zunoobana wa israfanaa fee amrina, wa sabbit akhdaamana wan'surna alal qhaumil kafireen.

O Lord, Forgive us our sins and the lack of moderation in our doings, and make firm our steps and help us against those who deny the truth.(3:147)

 


Rabbana innaka man tudkhilin-nara fa-qad akhzaytahu, wa ma liz-zalimina min ansar. Rabbana innana sami'na munadiyan yunadi lil imani an aminu bi-Rabbikum fa-amanna, Rabbana faghfir lana dhunubana wa kaffir 'anna sayyiatina wa tawaffana ma'al-abrar. Rabbana wa atina ma wa'adta-na 'ala russuli-ka wa la tikhzi-na yauma-l-qiyamati innaka latukhlifu-l-mi'ad.

O Lord, Whomsoever You shall commit to the Fire, truly You have brought [him] to disgrace, and never will wrongdoers find any helpers.  O Lord, Behold we have heard a voice calling us unto faith: "Believe in your Lord" as we have believed.  O Lord, Forgive us our sins and efface our bad deeds and take our souls in the company of the righteous.  O Lord, And grant us that which you have promised to us by Your messengers and save us from shame on the Day of Judgment. Verily You never fail to fulfill Your promise. (3:192-194)



…Rabbana zalamna anfusana, wa in lam taghfir lana wa tarhamna la-nakunanna minal-khaasirin.

…O Lord, We have sinned against ourselves, and unless You grant us forgiveness and bestow Your mercy upon us, we shall most certainly be lost (7:23)


 

Rabbana La taj alna ma'al qaumiz'zaalimeen.

 O Lord, Place us not among the people who have been guilty of evildoing. (7:47)



Rabbana Aftah bainana wabaina qaumina bil-haq'qi wa anta khairul faatiheen.

O my Lord, Lay open the truth between us and our people, for You are the best of all to lay open the truth. (7:89)


Rabbanaa afrigh alaina sabran wata waf'fana muslimeen.

O Lord, Pour out on us patience and constancy, and make us die as those who have surrendered themselves unto You. (7:126)


... Anta waliyyuna faghfir lana warhamna wa Anta Khayrul-ghafirin. Waktub lana fi hadhid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati inna hudna ilay-ka.

 ... (O Lord)You are our Guardian. Therefore, forgive us and have mercy on us, and You are the Best of the forgivers. And ordain for us good in this world's life and in the hereafter, for surely we turn to You alone. (7:155-156)



Rabbana la taj'alna fitnatan lil-qamidh-dhalimin. Wa najjina birahmati-ka minal qawmil-kaafirin.

O Lord, Make us not a trial for the unjust people, and save as by Your mercy from people who deny the truth (10:85-86)



Rabbanaa Inn'naka ta'lamu ma nukhfee wama nu'lin, wama yakhfa alal'laahi min shai'in fil arzi wala fis'samaa.

O Lord, You truly know all that we may hide [in our hearts] as well as all that we bring into the open, for nothing whatever, be it on earth or in heaven, remains hidden from Allah (14:38)



Rabbi 'j'alni muqima's-Salati wa min zhurriyati, Rabbana wa taqqabal du'a', Rabbana'ghfirli wa li walidayya walil-Mu'minina yawma yaqumul-Hisab.

O my Lord, make me one who establishes regular Prayer, and also (raise such) among my offspring. O Lord, accept my prayer. O Lord, forgive me and my parents and believers on the day when reckoning shall come to pass (14:40-41)



Rabbanaa Aatina mil'ladunka rahmah, wahai'yi' lana min amrina rashada.

O Lord, Bestow on us mercy from Your presence and dispose of our affairs for us in the right way. (18:10)



Rabbi-'shrah li sadri wa yassirli amri wa-hlul 'uqdatan min lisani yafqahu qawli.

O My Lord, expand my breast for me. And ease my task for me; and loose a knot from my tongue, (That) they may understand my saying. (20:25-28)



Rabbana Isrif 'anna 'adhaba Jahannama, 'inna 'adhabaha kana gharama, innaha sa'at mustaqarran wa muqama.

O Lord, turn away from us the chastisement of hell, surely the chastisement thereof is a lasting evil. Surely it is an evil abode and (an evil) place to stay in.(25:65-66)


       Rabbana hablana min azwaajina wazur'riy'yaatina qurr'rata A'yun, waj'alna lil mut'taqeena imaamaa.

O Lord, Grant that our spouses and our offspring be a comfort to our eyes, and give us the grace to lead those who are conscious of You. (25:74)


 

Rabbana wa si'ta kulla shai'ir'rahmata, wa ilman fagh-fir lil'lazeena taaboo wat'taba'oo sabeelaka waqhihim azaabal jaheem.

O Lord, You embrace all things within Your Grace and Knowledge, forgive those who repent and follow Your path, and ward off from them the punishment of Hell. (40:7)



Rabbana wa adkhil hum jan'naati adnil'latee wa at'tahum waman salaha min aabaa'ihim wa azwaajihim wa zur'riy'yaatihim, Inn'naka an'tal azeezul hakeem.

O Lord, Make them enter the Garden of Eden which You have promised to them, and to the righteous from among their fathers, their wives and their offspring, for verily You are alone the Almighty and the truly Wise. (40:8)


Rabbanakshif an'nal azaaba inn'naa mu'minoon.

O Lord, Relieve us of the torment, for we do really believe. (44:12)

 

Rabbi awzi'ni an ashkura ni'mata-ka-llati an'amta 'alayaa wa 'ala walidayya wa an a'mala salihan tardahu wa aslih li fi dhurriyyati, inni tubtu ilaika wa inni minal-muslimeen.

O my Lord, grant me that I should be grateful for Your favor which You has bestowed on me and my parents, and that I may do good which pleases You and do good to me in regard of my offspring. Verily I turn repentant to You, and verily I am one of those who submit. (46:15)


 

Rabba'naghfir lana wali ikhwaani nal'lazeena sabaqoona bil eemaan, wala taj'al fee quloobina gil'lal'lil'lazeena aamanu Rabbanaa inn'naka ra'oofur raheem.

O Lord, Forgive us our sins as well as those of our brethren who proceeded us in faith and let not our hearts entertain any unworthy thoughts or feelings against [any of] those who have believed. Our Lord! You are indeed full of kindness and Most Merciful (59:10)


Rabbana alaika tawak'kalna wa ilaika anabna wa ilaikal maseer.

O Lord, In You we have placed our trust, and to You do we turn in repentance, for unto You is the end of all journeys. (60:4)


 

Rabbanaa Atmim lana noorana waghfirlanaa,inn'naka alaa kul'li shai'in qadeer.

O Lord, Perfect our light for us and forgive us our sins, for verily You have power over all things. (66:8)
